CISA has introduced a pilot program to offer cybersecurity services to critical infrastructure entities facing increasing cyberattacks. The program includes deploying Protective Domain Name System to participating organizations and hosting roundtables to understand their needs. Initially, the program targets healthcare, water, and K-12 education, with plans to expand to 100 entities across sectors this year. Contact a regional CISA office for participation inquiries.
Last week, CISA announced the launch of a pilot program aimed at providing cybersecurity services to critical infrastructure entities. The program is a response to the increasing volume and impact of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure organizations, as highlighted by recent events such as the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack. CISA is already deploying its Protective Domain Name System to organizations participating in the pilot, which was previously limited in availability.
To further address the unique needs and challenges of critical infrastructure organizations, CISA will be hosting roundtables and information systems with partners in every sector and region. The goal is to identify gaps in existing capabilities, assess interest in shared services, and find scalable ways to provide support.
Currently, the pilot program includes critical infrastructure entities in healthcare, water, and K-12 education in its initial phase. However, CISA plans to extend its services to 100 different entities across sectors by the end of this year. Interested organizations can get in touch with a security adviser at a CISA office in their region to explore the possibility of participating in the pilot program.
