Stealth mode security startup Lasso Security has raised $6 million in seed funding, led by Entrée Capital and with participation from Samsung Next. The Tel Aviv-based company is developing technology to address cyber threats faced by generative AI and large language models, aiming to protect businesses that use these technologies. Lasso’s platform can prevent data poisoning, model theft, malicious code generation, and other attacks, while also providing oversight for sensitive data disclosures and safe use of LLM-based tools. The funding will be used to expand the team and enhance products.
Lasso Security, an end-to-end generative AI security startup, has recently emerged from stealth mode and secured $6 million in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Entrée Capital, with additional investment from Samsung Next.
Based in Tel Aviv, Lasso Security was established earlier this year and aims to address the cyber threats faced by generative AI and large language models (LLMs). The company is focused on preventing data exposure, security and compliance risks associated with these technologies.
Lasso’s goal is to protect every touchpoint of LLMs, allowing businesses to leverage generative AI and other LLM technologies in production environments with confidence. The company claims it can prevent various forms of attacks targeted at LLMs, including data poisoning, model theft, malicious code generation, prompt injection, and supply chain attacks. This approach ensures the security of commercial data and preserves customer and employee privacy.
Moreover, Lasso’s product will offer oversight for sensitive data disclosures and provide real-time guidance on the safe use of LLM-based tools by employees. The company plans to use the investment to expand its team and enhance its product offerings.
CEO Elad Schulman stated that Lasso’s mission is to equip businesses with robust defenses to safeguard their systems, particularly those using generative AI technologies that leverage LLMs. The company’s security platform will closely monitor every data point, command, and prompt generated by LLMs, thereby enabling teams to embrace generative AI without compromising data safety and security.
In other related news, application security startup Aikido recently raised €5 million, Cavelo secured CA$5 million for its attack surface management platform, Tidal Cyber raised $5 million for its threat-informed defense platform, and Risk Ledger raised £6.25 million for its supply chain security solution.
