Clothing and footwear company VF Corporation informed 35.5 million customers of a potential identity theft risk due to a security breach last year. The breach did not involve credit card or bank account details, but personal information may have been exposed. Based on the meeting notes, the VF Corporation disclosed a cybersecurity incident where 35.5 million customers’ personal information was accessed. While VF assured that no credit card or bank account information was stolen, it warned of the possibility of identity theft and phishing attempts. The stolen data includes names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, billing and shipping addresses, order history, total order value, and payment method details. VF stressed that it does not retain detailed payment information in its systems and highlighted that no passwords were compromised. However, customers were advised to consider changing their passwords and remain vigilant for potential phishing emails.
