Netskope has launched the Next Gen SASE Branch, an infrastructure solution that combines SD-WAN and security capabilities to optimize enterprise branches. It addresses challenges in current branch infrastructure such as legacy technologies, lack of scalability, and inadequate security controls. The solution features a unified SD-WAN and security appliance, a context-aware SASE fabric, zero trust-based security, and a cloud orchestrator powered by SkopeAI. Netskope claims that the Next Gen SASE Branch offers a one-platform, one-software, one-policy approach that meets the evolving needs of enterprise businesses.
Netskope, a leader in secure access service edge (SASE), has announced the launch of the Next Gen SASE Branch. This new infrastructure solution utilizes Netskope’s Borderless SD-WAN technology to transform the management of networking and security functions for organizations. The Next Gen SASE Branch aims to provide cloud-centric infrastructure that combines network and security capabilities, reduces legacy technology maintenance, and meets the performance requirements of hybrid work environments.
The current branch infrastructure faces various challenges that the Next Gen SASE Branch aims to address. These challenges include reliance on legacy SD-WAN and disjointed network security technologies, inability to accommodate the growing number of cloud applications and IoT devices, inefficiency and added costs associated with multiple security point products, and overall inadequate security controls.
The Next Gen SASE Branch, powered by Borderless SD-WAN, brings together a unified SD-WAN and security appliance called the Netskope SASE Gateway, along with a context-aware SASE fabric, zero-trust-based security, and a SkopeAI-powered cloud orchestrator. The solution is delivered as a single cloud offering and includes a thin branch that optimizes and secures traffic from all locations and users to cloud and on-premises locations.
According to Parag Thakore, SVP, Borderless SD-WAN at Netskope, the Next Gen SASE Branch is designed to meet the needs of enterprise businesses today and in the future. It offers a one-platform, one-software, one-policy approach that combines performance and security seamlessly.
Darren Carlson, CEO of Halo Global, a managed service provider, has partnered with Netskope to deploy the integrated SASE solution and modernize the branch and VPN infrastructure of many customers. The solution streamlines infrastructure while enabling business growth and security.
According to Brandon Butler, IDC Research Manager, enterprise networks, the era of the hyper-distributed enterprise is driving organizations to transform their network and security strategies. Netskope’s Next Gen SASE Branch exemplifies the company’s approach to SASE by combining deeply integrated networking and context-aware security, cloud-based management, and advanced automation with AI/ML.
The Netskope Next Gen SASE Branch includes a Context-Aware SASE Fabric that supports over 75,000 applications and is equipped with AI/ML-based IoT device intelligence, zero-trust hybrid security capabilities that integrate cloud-delivered Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) services, as well as an on-premises Application Firewall, IPS/IDS, and Device Intelligence capabilities. Additionally, Netskope ZTNA Next combines SD-WAN optimization with a converged zero trust network access solution for retiring legacy VPNs. The solution also features a SkopeAI-powered Cloud Orchestrator for streamlined network and security management, consistent policy enforcement, and end-to-end path visibility.
