Over 80,000 individuals are being informed by National Amusements about a data breach that compromised their personal information in December 2022. The breach involved access to the company’s network and files containing personal data. While the impacted information includes financial account numbers, National Amusements is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to the affected individuals.
Based on the meeting notes, it’s clear that National Amusements has informed over 80,000 individuals of a data breach in December 2022, compromising personal information including names, financial account numbers, and credit/debit card numbers. The breach was identified on December 15, 2022, and the company took immediate steps to minimize disruption and launched an investigation with the help of cybersecurity specialists. It was established in August 2023 that personal information was compromised, and approximately 82,000 individuals were affected. The impacted individuals have been offered complimentary credit monitoring services and are encouraged to remain vigilant about any suspicious activity on their accounts. National Amusements has not disclosed the type of cyberattack or whether the impacted individuals are employees or customers, but based on the compromised data, it seems that only employees were affected. There is currently no indication of identity theft or fraud resulting from the breach.
