From the meeting notes, it is clear that there has been a data breach at LoanCare, impacting over 1.3 million individuals. The breach was the result of a cyberattack on Fidelity National Financial’s (FNF) internal systems, affecting personal information including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and loan numbers. FNF disclosed the attack in a Form 8-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, revealing that the incident resulted in business disruptions and that the attackers exfiltrated data from their systems. It is reported that the ransomware group named BlackCat and Alphv claimed credit for the attack, and although law enforcement operations have seized some of their websites, the hackers continue with their operation. LoanCare is offering identity monitoring services for free to the impacted individuals and is coordinating with its customers to restore normal business operations.
