Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) is set to introduce a cybersecurity education program in 270 private schools, following its successful implementation in public schools last year. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the initiative aims to enhance students’ awareness of cybersecurity and digital safety, contributing to Qatar’s digitally secure society. Site visits to schools are planned under the Cyber Eco project, launched to promote cybersecurity knowledge through extra-curricular activities.

Based on the meeting notes, the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) in Qatar plans to implement a cybersecurity education program in 270 private schools, building on their previous rollout in public schools. The program, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, will initially run in 170 private schools and later expand to another 100. Specific timelines for the expansion were not provided.

The goal of the Cybersecurity Educational Curricula is to raise awareness of cybersecurity and digital safety concepts as part of Qatar’s efforts to build a digitally secure society. Omar Abdulaziz al-Naema, assistant undersecretary for Private Education Affairs, emphasized that implementing this curriculum in private schools is a crucial step towards further expansion at a state level.

In addition, the NCSA and Ministry will conduct site visits to schools in January as part of the Cyber Eco project, which aims to enhance cybersecurity knowledge through extra-curricular activities within the school environment.

It’s worth noting that as of this posting, neither the NCSA nor the Ministry had responded to interview requests.
