Ukraine media reported a cyberattack by the Blackjack cyber group, allegedly linked to the Security Service of Ukraine, targeting Moscow ISP M9 Telecom. Sources claim it was in retaliation for the Russia-backed breach of Kyivstar and may be a prelude to further “serious revenge.” The group also took credit for the late December breach of Moscow’s Rosvodokanal.
From the meeting notes, it is clear that there is a reported cyberattack by the Blackjack cyber group, linked to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which allegedly “destroyed” the servers of Moscow Internet service provider M9 Telecom. The cyber operation is said to be in retaliation for the Russia-backed breach of Kyivstar mobile phone operator on Dec. 12. Additionally, the Blackjack cyber group has claimed credit for the late December breach of Moscow’s Rosvodokanal water utility with the help of the SBU. The SBU’s cyber chief has also warned about sophisticated Russian cyber threats. This information highlights the escalating cyber conflicts between Ukraine and Russia.
