Nozomi Networks has launched Guardian Air, a security sensor for detecting wireless threats in OT and IoT environments. The product monitors various frequencies associated with wireless protocols and sends data to a cloud-based system for analysis. It provides visibility at the wireless level and is designed to be integrated into the Nozomi Networks Vantage platform. Expected to be available in the spring.
From the meeting notes, Nozomi Networks has announced the launch of Guardian Air, a security sensor aimed at detecting wireless threats in OT and IoT environments. Guardian Air continuously monitors various wireless frequencies, including Bluetooth, cellular, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, WirelessHART, and drone RF protocols. The collected data is then sent to Nozomi’s cloud-based management system for analysis alongside network and endpoint security data.
Moreover, Guardian Air provides users with information on wireless asset connections, enabling the detection of brute-force, spoofing, and hijacking attacks while also providing device location information. Nozomi Networks highlighted that Guardian Air integrates easily into the Nozomi Networks Vantage platform, offering combined network, endpoint, and wireless visibility, along with threat and anomaly detection. Additionally, the company emphasized the use of patented AI-powered analysis for real-time security management and remediation across the entire attack surface.
Guardian Air is set to be available in the spring and is expected to provide enhanced security for wireless deployments. This announcement also follows the release of related cybersecurity offerings from Protect AI and Venafi, and Dragos’ initiative to offer free OT cybersecurity technology to small US utilities. MITRE has also unveiled the EMB3D threat model for embedded devices used in critical infrastructure.
