Several Ukrainian critical infrastructure entities, including Naftogaz, Ukraine’s largest state-owned oil and gas company, experienced cyberattacks this week. Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s national postal service provider, and DSBT, a transport safety agency, also reported disruptions. Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s state railway, faced attacks as well. The cyberattacks’ connection and perpetrators remain unclear.
Based on the meeting notes, we can glean that several critical infrastructure entities in Ukraine, including Naftogaz, Ukrposhta, DSBT, and Ukrzaliznytsia, experienced cyberattacks. Naftogaz reported an attack on its data center, Ukrposhta experienced disruptions to its postal operating services, DSBT had its website operation and cargo delivery system disrupted, and Ukrzaliznytsia had its services halted and online ticket sales suspended. It’s noteworthy that the cyberattacks have not been attributed to a known entity, although a Russian group called the National Cyber Army claimed responsibility for the attack on the DSBT system. Ukraine’s cybersecurity agency is reportedly investigating the issue, but has not provided details about the cyberattacks.
