Veracode has made a significant announcement that they are acquiring Longbow Security, a seed-stage startup specializing in technology to automate root cause analysis of security vulnerabilities. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Longbow Security, headquartered in Austin, Texas, has raised $3 million in funding since its establishment in 2019 from Security Leadership Capital and Grafton Street Partners.

Veracode intends to incorporate Longbow’s technology to enhance security teams’ ability to promptly discover cloud and application assets and assess their threat exposure through automated issue investigation and root cause analysis. This strategic move aims to provide a comprehensive view of risk, streamline prioritization based on severity, and automate the remediation of code security flaws, resulting in reduced risk and fewer vulnerabilities in applications and cloud infrastructures.

By integrating Longbow Security, Veracode’s customers will gain unified visibility of risk across applications, code, and cloud; orchestrated remediation from code to cloud; automated root cause analysis for effective remediation; and continuous monitoring and assessment via real-time vulnerability discovery.
