Microsoft introduces new SSE offerings as part of the Entra Suite, providing secure access to cloud and enterprise applications. These include Entra Internet Access for SaaS applications and Entra Private Access for enterprise applications. The suite integrates with network security controls, offering a unified approach to conditional access. Microsoft plans to partner with third-party network and SSE providers in the future.

Based on the meeting notes, Microsoft has launched a new suite, Entra, which provides unified conditional access to enterprise and SaaS resources. The suite includes Entra Internet Access for securing SaaS applications and Entra Private Access for secure access to enterprise applications. These offerings integrate with Entra Identity and network security controls to provide a unified approach to conditional access.

Joy Chik, Microsoft’s president of identity and network access, emphasized the integrated nature of the Entra suite, with all components under one administration experience. Microsoft’s goal is to unify conditional access by integrating identity and network signals into one place with Entra conditional access.

There’s uncertainty about how organizations will embrace Microsoft’s convergence of identity and network access platforms, with some concern about concentration risk. However, it’s anticipated that organizations already using Microsoft-centric environments and modernizing their security stacks may be more inclined to adopt the Entra suite.

Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to partner with third-party network and SSE providers in the near future. This indicates a broader ecosystem approach, which may help address concerns about concentration risk and provide flexibility for organizations.
