MarineMax, the world’s largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, reported a data breach affecting over 123,000 individuals. The breach, claimed by the Rhysida ransomware gang, involved stolen personal information and financial documents. While the breach was initially downplayed, the attackers accessed the company’s network for ten days, ultimately leading to the exposure of sensitive data.

Based on the meeting notes, MarineMax, a recreational boat and yacht retailer, has suffered a significant data breach affecting over 123,000 individuals due to an unauthorized third party gaining access to their systems from March 1, 2024, to March 10, 2024. The breach led to the theft of personal information, but the specific data compromised has not been fully disclosed. The breach was attributed to the Rhysida ransomware gang, who have published a 225GB archive of files on the dark web and have a history of targeting various organizations, including healthcare and gaming sectors. MarineMax is currently working to address the breach and mitigate the impact on affected individuals.
